Hari Sutji Murwani
Hari Sutji Murwani, known as Arik is a quilt artist lives in Tangerang
Selatan, Indonesia. She made all kind of crafts since early age helping her
mother to get extra money for the family of six. During a holiday when she was
in university, she made a quilt of left over from her aunty’s business as a
seamstress. She brought that quilt when she married, and after years when she
wanted to discharge that quilt, her daughter said, “As long as you made me
the new one” That was how Farah Quilt business started in 2008. She taught
herself by red lots of books in quilt technique and design process and join
several workshop from big quilt artists in the world. She join some big craft
exhibition in Jakarta since 2012, went to Denhaag Nederland “Pasar Malam
Indonesia” exhibition in 2013 with Kemenkop UKM delegation (Indonesia
Coorperation, Small and Medium Enterprised Ministry) etc. She also one of
founders of Jakarta MQG (modern quilt guilt) that can join a big Quilt
Exhibition “Quiltcon” in USA. Her style is modern quilt and later improv
quilt that gave more liberation in term of technique, colors, and design
