Ira Chiaki Asaari

Ira Chiaki Asaari was born in the city of Bandung, Indonesia in 1975.
Growing up in a multicultural family, with Japanese influences from her
father’s side and Indonesian from her mother’s, she had shown interest in fine
arts since childhood. But what interested her the most, was jewelry.  After graduating high school, Ira Chiaki
Asaari continued her education in the Faculty of Arts and Design in Bandung
Institute of Technology, to major in Interior Design. For a few years she
worked in the interior design industry before settling down to get married and
to raise her children. It was at this point in life where she once again
pursued her interest in the world of jewelry by becoming a jewelsmith. Despite
not having the educational background and lack of training as a jewelsmith it
could not hold back her passion. Ira Chiaki Asaari had mostly learnt about
jewelsmithing as a self-taught, specializing in silver and gold. She has her
jewelry shipped all over Indonesia and and outside of it, such as Australia,
Canada, the UK, Taiwan and France. All of Ira Chiaki Asaari’s designs are
inspired by nature, she won’t make the same design twice. For Ira Chiaki
Asaari, every person has their own unique personality and authenticity. And so
every piece of jewelry a person wears has to be unique to them. She calls this
